Other Children's Opportunities

In addition to participation in regular Sunday School classes, there are many other opportunities for children and youth to be formed in the life of Redeemer.

Choristers (Children’s Choir):

The Redeemer Choristers is a choir for boys and girls aged 8 years and above. As an affiliate of the Royal School of Church Music, this choir is an excellent opportunity for your child to serve the worship life of the parish while also receiving formal music and vocal training.

For more information on the Chorister program or to register your child, contact Director of Music, Michael Murray at 617-566-7679 ext. 170 or mmurray@redeemerchestnuthill.org.

Serving in Worship:

There are two roles for youth in our worship service, Acolytes (5th-7th grade) and Servers (8th-12th grade). Acolytes and servers are trained for their ministry by the Verger of the parish, Suzy Westcott.

Anyone interested in this opportunity should contact our Verger, Suzy Westcott, at 617-566-7679 ext. 150 or verger@redeemerchestnuthill.org

Pre-Confirmation:

Our Pre-Confirmation youth (7th grade) are invited to attend Pre-Confirmation dinners two times a year to bond as a group and to prepare for an intensive 8th year in Confirmation Class. These gatherings usually occur in December and April.

For more information contact Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries Bobby Outterson-Murphy at 857-576-6084 or families@redeemerchestnuthill.org.

Children’s Liturgies:

Children’s Liturgies are designed to teach the children important Biblical stories in a fully interactive and engaging way. The liturgies include costumes, hands-on activities, and movement, to do what all good worship should accomplish–engage all of the senses.

Our primary recurring Children Liturgies are Communion Prep and Good Friday. Our Communion Prep Class is a re-enactment of the Last Supper to introduce the significance of the Eucharist. Our Good Friday Liturgy takes children through Jesus’ final week in Jerusalem, through the Passion Narrative, to provide them with an interactive encounter with Holy Week.
