Music at The Church of the Redeemer |
The Church of the Redeemer is a parish of the Episcopal Church, which exists to bring people to Christ, and to bring Christ to all people, through worship, fellowship, education and service. Music plays an important role within the parish, with the acclaimed choirs singing at the 10:30 a.m. services of worship, as well as several evensongs and other special occasions throughout the academic year.
The choirs’ repertory is drawn from the “English Cathedral Tradition”, with choral anthems sung at the offertory and at communion. The psalms are most usually sung to traditional Anglican Chant by the choirs and congregational settings of the Ordinary are most usually drawn from The Hymnal 1982. Choral settings are sung three times per season.
If you would like more information on the music program, including membership in one of the choirs, please contact the Organist & Choirmaster, Michael S. Murray. Tel: 617 566 7679 ext. 17.
