Carolyn Ross

Carolyn, her husband, Bill Codinha and their two daughters, Cotton and Alessandra joined the Redeemer 21 years ago. Cotton (31) and Alessandra (28) both now live in New York City. Carolyn is currently on the Vestry and serves on the Building and Grounds and the Stewardship Committees and on the Altar Guild, as Treasurer. Carolyn has been the Chair of the Altar Guild (and served on the Vestry Ex Officio), co-taught confirmation class for three years, ran Redeemer yard sales to raise funds for mission trips, chaperoned a mission trip to Cuba with Redeemer and St. Stephen’s teens and has worked at the South End’s Blackstone School Library, in a program initiated by St. Stephen’s. She has chaired the Redeemer Nominating Committee and co-chaired three recent Redeemer Stewardship campaigns with Chuck Farber and Dan McCarthy. Carolyn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and Boston College Law School. She practiced law as a litigator, then was general counsel of The Yankee Companies, Inc. She, has served as the President and Chair of the Beacon Hill Civic Association, on the boards of the Boston Ballet, the MSPCC, as an Associate Trustee of The University of Pennsylvania, Overseer of Boston College Law School, Trustee of the Masters School and the Chestnut Hill School and the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where she is an Honorary Trustee, chairs their Overseers Board and serves on their HR/Comp Committee. She is President of the Chestnut Hill Garden Club, a member of the Brookline Garden Club, and the Beacon Hill Circle for Charity, plays a lot of tennis and some not very good golf.
