Born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, John came to Massachusetts in 2000 and has been involved in youth and music ministry in various Boston-area churches ever since. He has a broad ecumenical approach to ministry, drawing diverse musical, liturgical and pedagogical influence from the various Christian traditions that he’s been fortunate enough to be a part of. That's a fancy, churchy way of saying he sings ridiculous songs about God with kids and teens (and fun adults). John was raised in the Episcopal Church (his mother is soon to be ordained to the priesthood!!!) and has provided youth work and music ministry in several denominational settings including Trinity Episcopal Church in Boston, The Barbara C. Harris Summer Camp, Diocesan Youth Ministry events and retreats, Tufts University Protestant Student Fellowship, The Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Greater Boston and the former Charles River Church, an emergent liturgical community. John met his wife Suzy while they were doing youth work together for the diocese. She is currently the Director of High School Sexual Health Education for Boston Public Schools. They live in Quincy with their dog, Mack. His bookshelf is mostly nerdy theology books that he enjoys but wishes had more pictures. If one values their time, they will be well advised to steer clear of conversation topics that include his musical tastes or his interest in sports played by the University of Texas Longhorns.
