Acolytes 5th-7th grade

Servers 8th-12th grade

Being an acolyte or server is a great way to learn

about Christian worship and meet other youth in our parish.

We don't schedule our Service Assistants every week,

so you can still go to Church School or do other things.

There is a training for new acolytes and servers

on Saturday, September 12th at 10 am. You'll learn everything you need to know.

Interested? Please contact the office as soon as possible

so that we can get you on the schedule.

Bible Study with the Rector

Grace for the Road:

Midweek Bible Studies for Ordinary Life

Resumes September 16th and 17th

Paul's letter to the Romans has, arguably, had more influence on the Christian Church over the last 500 years than any single book of the Bible.  In it he articulates his vision of the sovereignty of God and the necessity of grace, and does so in a way that is personally revealing and, at times, profoundly moving.  These studies are times of vibrant conversation and questioning, as we all seek a closer walk with Christ.  And the coffee is good, too!  We guarantee you will walk out re-charged for the rest of your week.

Men’s Bible Study, Wednesdays, 7:00 am

Women’s Bible Study, Thursdays, 9:15 am

Both Bible Studies meet at the Rectory, 381 Hammond Street

An adult inquirer's/Confirmation class

TOP 10 REASONS

Why Children are Welcomed at the Redeemer

10. Repeated exposure to the sights, sounds and symbols of the

Eucharist help form all Christians of any age.

9.  Children actually LIKE sitting in those usually-empty front pews so  they can see and hear everything happening

8. Practice makes perfect-teaching children to enjoy and participate in the service helps them become ACTIVE and receptive worshipping adults.

7.  There are no right answers at the communion rail!  We all experience the Eucharist as a mystery…you don’t have to explain it in order to benefit from it.

6.  Children have their own unique relationship with God.  Being in church helps them learn how to pray, sing, worship which will strengthen their relationship

5.  If children are not in church, who are the candy-unwrapping, restless, coughing, whispering adults going to blame for the noise?

4.  Children ask the questions that many are hesitant to ask.

3.  Sunday worship is a family togetherness time. Use the quiet space for extra hand-holding and snuggling time that may get lost during the busy week.

2. *Children teach us what absolute JOY looks like* and what better place to experience that than in church?

1. The #1 reason why children are welcomed in our church is that:

THE CIRCLE OF GOD’S FAMILY IS INCOMPLETE WITHOUT THEM!

Call for Stewardship Tenders

Want to help but not quite ready to be a Shepherd?

We have many very busy Shepherds who work downtown, are on the road, are full time caring for kids and many other good works.  Some could use a hand with some of the practical aspects of collecting pledge cards, and getting them physically into the bags. If anyone would like to volunteer to help our shepherds with some of the logistics, and get very discrete assignments to help pick up a pledge between October 10 and November 1, or for other small tasks (helping with detail of training or other social gatherings), please contact Laine in the office.

Diocesan-wide Days of Service

Friday, Sept. 11th & Saturday 12th

Sponsored by the diocese's two young adult intern programs--the Micah Project and the Relational Evangelism Pilot Project--along with diocesan leaders and staff.

Here's how to get involved:

×Commit to serving on either Sept. 11 or 12.  Projects are still being determined, but    three large sites, each led by a bishop, and several smaller ones throughout the diocese are expected.

×Gather a group of 10 or more people from your school, parish, deanery or community to work together at one of the sites.

×Donate money or supplies (paint, brushes, trash bags, gloves, water, snacks, etc.).

Anyone interested in participating may contact Natalie Finstad at natalie@diomassintern.org.
